Two Titles Earned for DSU Women Indoor Track & Field

In the Mount Marty Opener, the Dakota State women indoor track and field team captured two event titles. 

Lindsey Roth was part of the two event titles for the Trojans, capturing the 1000-meter run title with a time of 3 minutes, 21.10 seconds. Jada Anderson added a third-place finish in 3 minutes, 30.79 seconds.

Roth and Anderson teamed up with Madelyn Sylva and Saddie Palmquist to win the 4×800-meter relay title for DSU. The team clocked a time of 10 minutes, 38.31 seconds in the race, which is the 10th fastest time in the women’s indoor track & field school history.

Fane Sauvakacolo earned runner-up honor in the triple jump for DSU, leaping 34 feet, 5.75 inches. Carson Quigley produced a personal record long jump of 31 feet, 5.25 inches for place sixth.

Quigley added another personal record in the long jump, leaping 15 feet, 4 inches for the Trojans. Lahna Matucha also posted a personal best long jump of 13 feet, 7.75 inches. She also earned a personal record time of 10.09 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles.

Shaylee DeBeer competed in her first career indoor track & field meet, earning a third-place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1 minute, 3.05 seconds. Raylee Wallis added a time of 1:04.21 to follow up with a fifth-place finish. 

DeBeer clocked a time of 28.37 seconds in the 200-meter dash for DSU. 

Bella Maxwell paced Dakota State with a fourth place in the weight throw, tossing a personal record of 46 feet, 2 inches. Gabriella Peitzmeier posted a personal best weight throw toss of 44 feet, 11 inches to finish seventh.  

A pair of DSU shot put throwers produced personal best marks, led by Maxwell with a seventh place with a toss of 39 feet, 2.25 inches. Kiana Matucha also had a personal record of 32 feet, 5.75 inches in the shot put toss.

Dakota State continues their indoor track & field action Friday, when they compete in the South Dakota State D2 Invitational.
