Two Dakota State Athletes were honored in NSAA Men’s &Women’s Outdoor Track & Field weekly honors
The North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) announced its first edition of the Men’s &Women’s Outdoor Track & Field weekly honors Tuesday and two Dakota State Athletes were honored. Dakota State senior Maxwell Cruse was selected as the Male Track Athlete-of-the-Week & Jacia Christiansen was selected to the North Star Athletic Association Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete-of-the-Week
Cruse won the Rocky Mountain (Mont.) Last Chance Half Marathon meet in 1 hour, 11 minutes, and 3 seconds for the Trojans.
Christiansen placed second in the Rocky Mountain (Mont.) Last Chance Half-Marathon race, while breaking the school half-marathon record with a time of 1 hour, 27 minutes, and 25 seconds to finish second in the race. The previous half-marathon school was set by former NAIA All-America full marathon runner Karen Mayfield in 2015.
Both qualified for the 2021 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships in Gulf Shores, Ala. on May 26-28.
