Trojans Women’s Basketball to be Honored Today

The Dakota State Athletics Department is hosting a welcome reception for the Trojans women’s basketball team this afternoon.

The Trojans completed one of the most historic seasons in women’s basketball program history, advancing to their first-ever NAIA National Tournament semifinal. In addition, Dakota State became the first-ever NSAA member to reach the NAIA Women’s Basketball National Tournament’s Fab Four since the league inception in 2013-14.

DSU finished with a school-record 29 victories (29-7 overall record) after going 4-1 in the national tournament.

Dakota State had claimed three consecutive NSAA regular-season titles and made the trip to the NAIA national tournaments three straight years. It was the first time since 2006-08 that DSU had won three straight conference regular-season titles, as well as making it to the national tournament three consecutive years.

Trophies will be on display for people viewing, with the reception starting at 4:30pm this afternoon at the DSU Fieldhouse.
