Trojans Women’s Basketball Goes 0-2 in Cattle Classic

With the season now underway for the Dakota State Women’s Basketball team, they recently competed in the Cattle Classic, going 0-2 in their two weekend games, dropping to 0-3 on the year.

In the first game of the Cattle Classic for the Trojans, despite trailing by 18 points at halftime, DSU’s second-half surge was not enough as they fell short to Briar Cliff by the score of 85-78.

The Chargers took advantage of converting 20-of-29 free-throws compared to the Trojans 9-of-17 free-throws.

Then against Concordia, the second half was again the story for the game, however it was the Bulldogs who went on a run in the half, using their second half run to secure a 71-61 victory over the Trojans.

The two losses over the weekend moved the Trojans to an 0-3 start to the year.

The Trojans stay on the road as they face in-state rival Mount Marty tomorrow, November 8th, with a  6pm tip-off at Cimpl Arena in Yankton, SD.
