Trojans Volleyball Finished Their Regular Season

Over the weekend, the Dakota State volleyball team finished off the regular season with two matches, going 1-1 through the two games. 

The weekend started off with the Trojans fighting hard against the top team in the NSAA, Viterbo, taking them to five sets. However, Viterbo closed the match out to get the 3-2 set victory. 

This was the second time the two teams went to five sets this season. Scores for the sets were 20-25, 25-16, 25-14, 20-25, and 15-10.

Then in their final match of the season, DSU had better success against Waldorf, beating the Warriors in four sets, for the ninth straight win over Waldorf, and 12th win out of the last 13 matches in series between the two teams. 

Set scores were 30-32, 25-23, 25-22, 25-22.

Dakota State’s overall record now stands at 17-16, and they finished their home schedule with a 7-3 record. The Trojans also moved into a tie for third place in the NSAA volleyball standings with Mayville State, each with a 7-7 record. 

Next for the Trojans is the NSAA Volleyball ‘Super Six’ Tournament this weekend, with their first match Friday, November 11th against Presentation.
