Trojans Played First Two Home Matches of the Season

After playing 14 straight matches away from the DSU Fieldhouse, Dakota State played their first two home matches this week, going 1-1 against Bellevue and Morningside.

Bellevue Bruins came out and swept the Trojans in three straight sets in DSU’s home opener on Wednesday (25-11, 26-24, 25-19). Both teams will meet for their second meeting in October.

DSU then continued their season-long five-match home stand last night, hosting Morningside in a non-conference contest.

In their second match of the week, after getting swept on Wednesday, the Trojans returned the favor against Morningside, sweeping Morningside in three sets (25-16, 25-20, 25-13) to get their first home win of the season.

The victory over Morningside evened up DSU’s record at 8-8. Trojans will be back next Wednesday at home when they host Presentation.
