Trojans open Brian Kern Stadium Era tonight against DWU

The Dakota State University football team makes their 2024 season debut tonight at the all new Blankley Field at Brian Kern Family Stadium, part of the Beacom PREMIER Complex. The Trojans host their in-state rival Dakota Wesleyan in the 9th annual Ag Bowl contest and Chamber of Commerce Traveling Trophy Cup.

Dakota State looks to improve from last year’s 1-9 record, and will be seeking a winning record for the first time since 2022 when they finished 6-4. The Trojans had won 6 in a row against the Tigers, before last year’s 23-13 loss in Mitchell.

DSU was picked to finish fifth in the North Star Athletic Association this year, while the Tigers were picked to finish seventh in the Great Plains Athletic Conference. This is the final year for Dakota State in the North Star, before transitioning to the Frontier Conference next season.

Thursday’s meeting will be the 78th all-time meeting between the Trojans and the Tigers. Dakota Wesleyan leads the all time series 40-36-1.

Kick-off is set for 7:05 pm tonight. KJAM will air the game on Jammin Country 103, and AmazingMadison.com. The Pre-Game show starts at 6:30 this evening.
