Trojans Loses Close Game at Dickinson State

On the road last night the Dakota State men’s basketball team fell to Dickinson State in a close matchup, with a final score of 84-78.

Neither team was able to establish much of a lead early on, with the largest lead being a seven point lead for the Blue Hawks in the first half. But everytime one team attempted to go on a run, the other would respond as both sides went into halftime tied 39-39.

Coming out of halftime, the Blue Hawks hit two three-pointers to set the tempo for the second half. This forced the Trojans to play from behind the entire second half, trailing by as much as nine.

Despite two clutch three’s from Sam Muller and Chris Morales in the final minute, Dickinson State was able to convert free throws to win 84-78.

Muller finished with a game lead of 29 points, going 2-3 from beyond the arc, and also grabbed four rebounds.

The Trojans fell to 11-15 and 5-7 in NSAA play. They will stay on the road today when they play at Valley City State at 5pm. Game can be heard on FM 103.1 or online at AmazingMadison.com.
