Trojans Looking to Rebound at Home

Tomorrow, the Dakota State football team will return to Trojan Field for their second home game of the season, while also looking for their second win.

Trojans come into this game 1-2 after back-to-back road losses. The stories of both games were pretty similar. Strong defense in the first quarter, before seemingly falling apart in the second. In both road games, the Trojans were outscored by a combined score of 56-0 in the second quarter.

By the time the second half started in both games, at Wisconsin-Lacrosse and also last week at Waldorf, the Trojans had too big of an uphill battle to climb, losing those games by scores of 42-7 and 42-17 respectively.

Only a combined ten points were scored in the first half of those games, with DSU scoring those ten points in the opening quarter last week at Waldorf.

The importance of winning is that a win tomorrow can help to put the season back on track and help the Trojans regain confidence moving forward this season. Trojans Head Coach Josh Anderson mentioned how a win can make everyone feel better.

Right now though, it isn’t just a victory in the record book that Anderson is looking for.

Iowa Wesleyan is coming in with a 2-2 record, winning their last two games after starting the year 0-2. This means that DSU will have their work cut out for them in their homecoming game against IWU as they look to get back on into the win column after two straight tough road losses.

Game is scheduled to start at 4pm and can be heard on FM 103.1 or at AmazingMadison.com.
