Trojans Indoor Track & Field Begins Today

Today, both Dakota State indoor track & field teams prepare for their first action of the season when they compete in the South Dakota State Holiday Invitational throughout the weekend. The event lasts both today and tomorrow at South Dakota State University.

The two-day indoor track & field preseason meet kicks off this afternoon with the multi-events starting at 12pm. The field events are set for 3:15pm with the women’s weight throw and men’s shot put. The running events are scheduled for 4pm with the 60-meter hurdles, and wrap up at 8:10pm with the 4×400-meter relay.  

The second day of the indoor track & field meet tomorrow is set to begin at 11am, with the discus throw that will be held indoors. Meanwhile, the men’s heptathlon will wrap up their two-day action starting with the 60-meter hurdles.

The Trojans return ten total athletes that competed in the 2022 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships in Spring, with seven of them returning for this year’s indoor track & field season.

Those runners for DSU were Treshawn Roberts, Conner Tordsen, The Trojan men’s 4×800-meter relay team of Joshua Krull, Roger Oliete Tejedor, Evan Slominski, and Cody Farland, and Lahna Matuha returns from last year’s national meet in the women’s high jump for the Trojans.
