Trojan’s Final NSAA Road Trip This Weekend

Both Dakota State basketball teams will travel for their final North Star Conference road trip this weekend, with games at Dickinson State and Valley City State.

The Trojans women’s team heads into this weekend in sole possession of first place in the NSAA with a 20-5 overall record and 10-1 NSAA record. They will be looking to extend their current ten game winning streak, all coming in 2023.

DSU first plays Dickinson State this weekend, who the Trojans have already beaten earlier this year 80-53. That was the thirteenth straight win against the Blue Hawks for the Trojans.

On Saturday, the Trojans play Valley City State, who Dakota State has already won against twice this season, with the Trojans winning by scores of 70-49 and 86-43. Trojans have a nine-game win streak currently against the Vikings.

With wins this weekend, the Trojans would get closer to winning the North Star regular season title.

For the men’s team, they have an 11-14 overall record and 5-6 NSAA record, going into this weekend in sixth place in the conference.

Dakota State lost to Dickinson State earlier this year 81-70 and will be looking to avenge that loss as they attempt to move up in the NSAA rankings. The Trojans did beat Valley City State earlier this year in a close 75-70 game, which was DSU’s first NSAA victory of the season.

Games this weekend start at Dickinson State tonight, with the women tipping off at 6:30pm CT and the men to play directly after. Then the Trojans will play Valley City State tomorrow afternoon, starting with the women at 3pm CT and the men at 5pm CT.
