Traia Hubbard of DSU receives more outdoor track & field weekly honors from NSAA
Traia Hubbard of Dakota State continues to rack up the outdoor track & field weekly honors from the North Star Athletic Association. She collected her second consecutive week as the NSAA Women’s Outdoor Field-of-the-Week, her third overall this season.
Hubbard placed second in the discus throw at the 2021 Sioux City Relays, which featured numerous schools from NAIA to NCAA Division I levels, for the Trojans. She hit the NAIA ‘A’ standard qualifying mark for the second straight week. She tossed 156 feet, 3 inches in the discus throw. She was the top NAIA thrower in the event.
Hubbard had already secured a spot at the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships in late May. She is currently second in the NAIA in the discus throw and seventh in the shot-put both set from the Red Raider Invitational in Orange City, Iowa.
DSU heads to Vermillion, S.D. for the NCAA Division I South Dakota Twilight meet. Field events start at 3 p.m., while the running events are set for 5 p.m.  Attendance will be limited due to COVID-19 capacity restrictions.
Hubbard will join 21 other athletes to the 2021 Drake Relays at Bulldog Stadium on Friday and Saturday.
