DSU Media Release – Three Dakota State athletes officially qualified for the 2021 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships. The national meet is scheduled for March 3rd through March 6th at Mount Marty in Yankton. DSU serves as its host for the national meet for the third consecutive year.

Traia Hubbard is scheduled to compete in two throwing events at the national meet.  She will be competing in the women’s shot put and weight throw for the Trojans.  Hubbard is currently seeded fifth in the shot put and eighth in the weight throw. It will be the second straight year that Hubbard competes at the NAIA indoor track & field national meet.  She earned her first NAIA All-America honor in the shot-put last season.

Alex Derr is set to run in the men’s 800-meter run, he is seeded sixth in the field. Derr is scheduled to make his fourth appearance at the NAIA indoor track national meet. SenQuavius Johnson will be making his first appearance, he is scheduled to run in the 60-meter dash for the Trojans, recording the 10th fastest time in the field.
