Roberts Earns Both NSAA and NAIA Men’s Indoor Track Athlete-of-the-Week

Treshawn Roberts became the first Dakota State indoor track & field athlete to be selected to the NAIA National Men’s Indoor Field Athlete-of-the-Week. He was also selected for the same award from the NSAA.

Roberts broke the school record in the heptathlon event for the Trojans in the two-day Mark Schuck Open. He scored 5,097 points in the heptathlon, which leads the NAIA in men’s heptathlon.

He established five personal records in the heptathlon events – 60-meter dash (7.25 seconds), long jump (21 feet, 9 inches), shot put (44 feet, 4.25 inches), 60-meter hurdles (8.45 seconds), and pole vault (13 feet, 9.75 inches).

Roberts finished second overall in the heptathlon event at Mark Schuck Open, as well as the top NAIA place finisher. His heptathlon points will count toward the NSAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, where the final heptathlon results will be announced a few days prior to the conference meet.

Dakota State continues their action on Saturday as they head to Mitchell, SD for the Dakota Wesleyan Alumni Invitational. Field events start at 11am, followed by the running events at 12pm.
