Pairings for Annual DSU Girls Classic Announced

The Dakota State University athletic department has set the pairings for this year’s annual girls’ basketball classic to be held on January 14th at the DSU Fieldhouse. A total of 16 teams from three states (South Dakota, Iowa, and Minnesota) are scheduled to compete in the classic.

The eight-game schedule starts at 9am with Hills-Beaver Creek taking on White River.  Mitchell Christian faces Kadoka at 10:30am, while McLaughlin plays Elk Point-Jefferson at 12pm.

Hill City plays Lennox at 1:30pm, while Lakota Tech faces Crofton, who is ranked No. 6 in Nebraska’s Class C-2 rankings.

The evening session begins at 4:30pm with Chester taking on Madison. Garretson is scheduled to play Sergeant Bluff-Linton at 6pm.

The classic wraps up with the current South Dakota Class ‘A’ top-ranked team, Hamlin, taking on West Lyon at 7:30pm. The Chargers advanced to last year’s South Dakota Class ‘A’ championship game, while the Wildcats advanced in Iowa Class 3A’s state semifinals last season.

Admission to the game is $8 for adults, $4 for K-12th grade and free for pre-school and younger.
