new school record set for the 4 x 400-meter relay for DSU Women’s Track and Field Team
A new school record was set for the 4 x 400-meter relay in the regular season finale for the Dakota State Women’s Track and Field Team at the NCAA Division I meet South Dakota Tune-up on Friday. The team of Jennifer Giles, Shaylee DeBeer, Jessica Giles and Kezley Yeager finished at 4:01.39, which broke the record and were able to grab a fourth place finish at the meet. Yeager finished seventh in the 400-meter dash with a personal best time of 58.94. Jessica Giles placed two spots behind her in the event. Jacia Christiansen placed sixth in the 5000-meter run with a time of 18 minutes, 45.44 seconds, which was the third best time in school history. Julliette Rios hit a career best of 13:08.85 and finished eighth in the 3000-meter steeplechase. DeBeer hit a triple jump mark of 10.70 meters for a personal best.
