Multiple Trojans Hit Personal Records at Mount Marty Last Chance Meet

In the Mount Marty Last Chance meet, multiple Dakota State throwers, both mens and womens, competed and hit personal records. 

For the women, a pair of Trojan shot-put throwers hit personal records, led by Britni Plucker with a fifth-place finish after throwing 39 feet, .5 inches. Oliviyah Thornton followed up with a seventh place after tossing 38 feet, 2 inches.

Bella Maxwell threw 36 feet, 5 inches to finish 10th for DSU. Gabriella Peitzmeier was 11th after throwing 36 feet, 3.5 inches. Myra Whitehead tossed 33 feet, 6.75 inches, while Kiana Mounga posted a toss of 33 feet, 5.75 inches, and Alexis Olson with a toss of 30 feet.

Peitzmemer threw 46 feet, 1.25 inches to earn a fourth-place finish in the weight throw event for Dakota State. Maxwell followed up with a sixth-place finish after throwing 44 feet, 7.5 inches. Mounga was ninth with her toss of 42 feet, 9 inches.

Five Dakota State men throwers produced personal records in the Mount Marty Last Chance meet, highlighted by Houston Lunde in the weight throw event with a third-place finish with a personal record toss of 51 feet, 1 inch. Jackson Zastera followed up with a sixth-place finish after throwing 48 feet, 11.75 inches. Zachary Haugen was 14th after posting a 42 feet, .5 inches.

Dylan Johansen led the Trojans with a sixth-place finish in the shot-put event with a personal record mark of 44 feet, 4.25 inches. Lunde added a personal best toss of 41 feet, 2.5 inches to finish 11th. Zastera was 14th with a 40 feet, 3.25 inches.

Dakota State returns to Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex (SJAC) in Brookings, SD on Sunday, February 19th as they prepare for the NSAA Indoor Track & Field Championships. The first events are set for 9 am.
