Kelly Named NSAA Men’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week

Deshawn Kelly of Dakota State was selected by the NSAA as its Men’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week, announced earlier this week. 

Kelly, 6-foot-3 senior guard, shot 11-of-14 from the field as the Trojans routed in-state rival Mount Marty 98-66 on the road on November 8th. He drained 5-of-8 3-pointers and poured in a career-high 28 points. He also dished out two assists and stole the ball three times.

He followed up with 10-of-15 field goals, including 3-of-6 3-pointers, for 25 points in DSU’s 82-64 exhibition game setback at South Dakota on November 12th. He also had three rebounds and two assists.

Prior to the game this week, Kelly averaged 12.8 points and 4.8 rebounds per game for the Trojans. He is 20-of-42 from the field (47.6 percent) and 9-of-21 from the 3-point arc.

Dakota State will take their 2-2 overall record to Sioux Falls tomorrow, November 17th, with a tip off at 7pm.
