Jessi Giles was named the NSAA Women’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week for her efforts versus three nationally ranked opponents. Giles averaged 20.7 points, 2.3 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.3 rebounds as Dakota State went 2-1 record for the week. She scored 16 points, dished out three assists and stole the ball twice in Trojans’ 79-60 victory over #8 Dordt. Giles was named to the Cattle Classic All-Tournament team after scoring 30 points with three assists in 94-82 victory over #11 Concordia (Nebraska). She added 16 points as the Trojans fell short to #20 Carroll (Montana). For the week, Giles racked up 62 points, 7 assists, 5 steals and 4 rebounds. She was 19-of-36 from the field (52.8 percent), 10-of-14 from the 3-point arc (71.4 percent) and was near perfect at the free-throw line (14-of-15 free-throws).
