Four Trojans Volleyball Players Receive NSAA All-Conference Honors

The NSAA all-conference teams and postseason awards were announced yesterday and four Dakota State players received awards.

Twenty-two athletes have been selected to the NSAA Women’s Volleyball All-Conference teams. A total of 14 players are listed on the First Team, while eight athletes are named to the Second Team. Four DSU players were selected to the NSAA Volleyball All-Conference teams, with two players on each team (first and second teams).

Hannah Viet and Sydney Schell landed on the NSAA Women’s Volleyball All-Conference First Team. It was the third straight year that Viet was named to the league’s All-Conference honor, her second straight year being selected to First Team distinction. She leads the team with 147 blocks, which is second most single season blocks prior to the tournament Friday.    

Schell was named to NSAA All-Conference selection for her second consecutive season (Second Team in 2021). She leads the team in total kills with 460 kills (3.6 kills per set) for the Trojans.

Sisters Peyton and Madalyn Groft were voted to the NSAA Women’s Volleyball All-Conference Second Team. Peyton is the all-time school’s digs leader, leading the team with 685 digs this season. Madalyn earned her third consecutive All-Conference allocades. She produced triple-doubles eight times during this season for the Trojans.

Peyton Groft also received the NSAA Champions of Character for the third consecutive year for the Trojans. 

Dakota State, 17-16 overall record, prepares for the opening round of the 2022 NSAA Women’s Volleyball Postseason Tournament Friday. The third-seeded Trojans kick off the first session at 10am with sixth-seeded Presentation.
