Entringer Named to the CSC Academic All-District First Team

Carrington Entringer, Senior Outfielder for the Dakota State softball team, was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District First Team.

She became a two-time NSAA All-Conference, earning the First Team At-Large earlier this month and Second Team All-Conference in 2022.

The 2022-23 Academic All-District Softball team, selected by CSC, recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom.

Entringer finished the 2023 season with a .388 batting average (64-of-165 at the plate – tied for fifth most hits in a single season with Michelle Evdos) and produced the single season record for most triples with 11 triples. She also posted a slugging percentage of .612 (12 doubles, 11 triples, 1 home run), and drove in 20 runs.

She swiped a single season record of 40 bases, breaking a 14-year-old school record of 28 stolen bases by Ashley Souphimdara with 28 stolen bases in 2009.

Entringer shattered the career record of 15 triples, breaking the previous career record with nine triples held by five different players with the most recent by Peyton Brokiewicz in 2016-19.

Entringer also tied the all-time school record of 53 stolen bases with Lori Olsen in 2004-07.

Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced June 6th. Athletes will need to maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher.
