DSU’s Walsdorf Named NSAA Women’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week

The NSAA announced the third edition of their weekly honors yesterday, and they tabbed DSU’s Savannah Walsdorf as its Women’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week.

Walsdorf, 6-footer junior forward, averaged nearly a double-double for the week as the Trojans posted a 3-0 record. She produced a double-double of 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in DSU’s 78-49 road victory at in-state rival Mount Marty.

She followed up with nine points, seven rebounds, and six steals in Dakota State’s 70-48 victory over Iowa Wesleyan in the Viterbo Tournament on November 11th. Walsdorf wrapped up the week with 19 points on her 8-of-10 field goals and grabbed nine rebounds in fueling DSU to a 100-67 victory over Indiana Northwest. 

For the week, Walsdorf averaged 14.7 points, 9.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 3.3 steals per game. She was 16-of-34 from the field and made all eight free-throw attempts. She accumulated 12 assists and 10 steals for the week.

Prior to this week’s games, Walsdorf averaged 11.5 points and 7.8 rebounds per game for the Trojans.

Dakota State plays their home opener tonight when they welcome Bacone. Tip-off from the DSU Fieldhouse is set for 6pm.
