DSU Women’s Basketball Team Riding Six Game Winning Streak

Currently riding a six-game winning streak, Dakota State Women’s Head Basketball Coach, David Moe, really likes what he has this year and is confident in how far this year’s team can go.

It wasn’t pretty on paper to start the year for the Lady Trojans, as they lost their first three games. After losing multiple starters, it can take some time for a team to gel and get comfortable in their new roles, as Coach Moe mentions.

Another thing to look at with those early losses is the strength of the opponents they were playing. Dordt, Briar Cliff, and Concordia are all very strong teams, and playing against opponents like that has its positives, like Moe says, with how it can show you where you are at as a team and what areas still need to be worked on to reach the teams goals.

Since those three losses, the Trojans have won six-straight as they went into the Thanksgiving Break. Even though the wins are stacking up, Coach Moe doesn’t believe they are playing their best yet, but does believe that when it starts to matter the most they will be.

One of those areas Coach Moe mentioned that he would like to see get improved is the team shooting percentage, though he is confident it will improve.

The Trojans will return from their week off when they host Saint Xavier this Sunday with a 1pm tip-off.
