The Dakota State Women’s Basketball team rallied from a 16-point second half deficit on Saturday night at the DSU Fieldhouse to win the NSAA Women’s Championship game, 80-72 over Bellevue University. The victory also punched the Lady T’s to the NAIA National Tournament, their first trip since the 2007-08 season. They shot 63 percent in the second half, while outscoring the visitors 30-10 in the final 10 minutes. Four players scored in double-digits, led by Morgan Koepsell who had 20 points off the bench.

Dakota State extended their historic winning streak to 21 games and tied the school record of 25 overall victories with the 1999-2000 squad. They have a 25-3 overall record and swept the NSAA regular-season and conference tournament titles. It was the first NSAA tournament title in program history. The NAIA Basketball Selection Show is scheduled for Thursday at 6 pm on the PlayNAIA Facebook page.
