Dakota State continued its dominance with in-state rival Mount Marty in a non-conference volleyball action at DSU Fieldhouse Friday evening. The Trojans won their home opener in four sets by the score of 25-13, 16-25, 25-14 and 25-20. Dakota State has won 11 times in the last 12 meetings with Mount Marty, extending their winning streak to six matches in the series meeting. The Trojans matched its best start since the 2006 season with an overall record of 4-1.

Maddie Polzin had 12 kills to lead the Trojan attack, Abigail Van Ruler picked up nine kills with six blocks and Madalyn Groft produced a double-double with 19 assists and 12 digs for DSU. Lady T’s Volleyball will be back in action this upcoming Wednesday, opening up Fall NSAA play versus Bellevue.

 

DSU Cross Country will open up their season today, hosting the 18th annual Herb Blakely Invite at the Madison Country Club. The Women’s 5K race will begin at 10:30 and the Men’s 8K will follow. A total of six teams are expected to compete today. Good luck to all.
