After a two-plus week hiatus, the Dakota State Volleyball team returned to action this past weekend – picking up a pair of home NSAA victories. The Lady T’s were in quarantine status for the last half of September and early stretch of October, having their schedule adjusted that reflects both the fall and spring portions.

Friday night saw them defeat Waldorf in a five-set thriller. Set scores were: 25-18, 16-25, 25-20, 25-19 and 15-13. Maddie Polzin had a well round match, she led the team with 15 kills, chipped in with three aces, five blocks and seven digs. Madalyn Groft had a double-double: 16 assist and 11 digs, with seven kills and two blocks.

It was a stout win on Saturday at the DSU Fieldhouse, defeating defending league champions Viterbo 3-1. Set scores: 25-21, 25-23, 9-25, 25-22. The Lady T’s took advantage of 34 attacking errors and 10 service errors in the victory. Peyton Groft had a season-high 24 digs for Dakota State. With the pair of wins over the weekend, DSU improved to 6-3 on the season and 2-0 in conference play. They will be back at home Wednesday night, welcoming in Bellevue to Madison.
