DSU Softball wrapped up their 12-game softball road stretch

Dakota State wrapped up their 12-game softball road stretch Sunday afternoon, concluding their North Star Athletic Association four-game series versus Mayville State (N.D.).  The Trojans fell short in another pitcher’s duel in the first game, despite a walk-off 1-0 victory by the Comets in the bottom seventh inning.  In the series finale DSU held a 3-2 lead but could not overcome MSU’s nine-run fifth-inning explosion losing 11-3 setback.

Dakota State dropped their overall record to 10-22 and 4-10 in NSAA.  Mayville State improved their overall record to 11-13 and 7-5 record in league play.

The Trojans kick off their 12-game home stand stretch at Thue Field Tuesday, hosting No. 14-ranked Morningside (Iowa).  The non-conference doubleheader is set for 3 p.m
