DSU Softball Swept in Doubleheader with Bellevue
The Dakota State softball team traveled to Omaha for a doubleheader with Bellevue. The first game saw a pitcher’s duel between DSU and Bellevue, however, the Bruins’ offense exploded for nine runs in the fourth and fifth innings to earn a 9-1 victory. Bellevue completed the doubleheader sweep with a 10-2 five-inning victory in the second game.
Dakota State’s four-game winning streak came to end, falling to 10-18 overall and 4-6 in the NSAA. Bellevue, which remained undefeated at home with an 8-0 record, raised their overall record to 22-13 and 8-2 record in league. Both teams will meet again for the second NSAA meeting on April 21 at Thue Field.
The Trojans continue their 14-game road stretch tomorrow with a non-conference doubleheader at Briar Cliff (Iowa). The first game is set to start at 3 p.m. in Sioux City, Iowa.
