DSU sending ten athletes to the Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track & Field National Championships

Dakota State will be sending ten athletes to the 70th annual Men’s and 41st annual Women’s Outdoor Track & Field National Championships.  The three-day national outdoor track & field meet kicks off on Wednesday at 10 a.m. and runs through Friday in Gulf Shores, Ala.

Four of the ten athletes are seeded in the Top 11 nationally prior to the national meet this week.  Treshawn Roberts gets underway on Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. with the decathlon event, which will run for two days.  Conner Tordsen is scheduled to hammer throw on the same day, while the Trojan 4 x 100-meter relay team is set to run in the semifinals as well.  The action continues on Thursday in the decathlon and Tordsen’s discus throw.  The national meet wraps up on Friday with the half-marathon early Friday morning, followed by the 4 x 100-meter relay (if they advanced from Wednesday’s semifinals).

The last time DSU was in action was in the two-day North Star Athletic Association Championships in Valley City, N.D. on May 12-13.  The Trojan men’s won their historic three-peat title with a conference meet 300 points, while the women’s finished third.
