DSU makes third consecutive trip to NAIA Men’s Cross Country National Championships
Dakota State (S.D.) made their third consecutive trip as a team to the 65th annual NAIA Men’s Cross Country National Championships Friday and placed 31st as a team. The national meet was hosted by Mount Mercy (Iowa).
The 2020 fall sports NAIA national championships were forced to move to the spring season due to the coronavirus pandemic. The cross country was the first fall sports national championship to be held this spring.
The Trojans represented the conference at the national 8K meet. A total of 317 runners completed the men’s race.
Alex Derr paced DSU with an 111th place finish after clocking a time of 26 minutes, 21.28 seconds. It was his personal best national meet time.
Taylor Myers placed 204th, Evan Slominski 217th. It was the first national cross country meet appears for both Myers and Slominski
