Dakota State Indoor Track & Field had their first meet of 2020 this past Friday at the SDSU D2 Meet in Brookings. The Men were the top finishing NAIA school and placed fifth overall, while the Women placed 14th.

Some individual highlights on the Men’s side included Max Cruse and Braden Curnow producing qualifying times for NAIA Nationals in the 5,000 meter run. Cruse ran a time of 14 minutes 49.29 seconds (second best in school history) and Curnow was right behind him at 14 minutes 50.01 seconds (third best in school history). 11 different Men posted career best marks/times at the meet.

Traia Hubbard broke her own school record in the Shot Put (44 feet, 3.25 inches) and earned a qualifying mark for Nationals. She also threw the third best Weight Throw in Indoor School history (48 feet 5.25 inches). Three other throwers posted personal bests. Ashley Robinson and Jada Anderson finished fifth and sixth in the 3,000 meter run.

DSU Track & Field are back in action this Saturday at the Dakota Wesleyan Invite.
