Dakota State University has been picked to finish fourth in the North Star Athletic Association Football Coaches’ Preseason Poll, the conference office announced Tuesday. The Trojans tallied 17 points in the conference preseason poll, voted by the league head coaches. Dickinson State was the coaches’ pick to win the conference title after picking up five first-place votes. Valley City State was picked second, Waldorf third, Presentation fifth and Mayville State sixth.

The NAIA Football Championships Series has been delayed to spring 2021 after numerous conferences around the country moved their fall sports. Teams that play a fall schedule will be eligible to compete in the postseason. To earn an automatic bid to the NAIA Playoffs, a team needs to be ranked in the NAIA’s ‘Top 20’ in the national poll and win the conference title.
