DSU Cross Country Set for National Championships Tomorrow in Vancouver, WA

The Dakota State men’s cross country team will be representing the NSAA in the 66th annual men’s national 8K meet tomorrow afternoon at 12:30 p.m. The men clinched their fourth consecutive North Star Athletic Association Men’s Cross Country Championships in October.  It is the first time in program history that DSU had won four straight conference team titles. Taylor Myers finished  runner-up with a time of 28:29.01 for the Trojans.  Colter Elkin followed in fifth place in 28:46.39, with Evan Slominski finishing seventh at 28:57.11. Myers, Elkin, Slominski, and Cody Farland earned NSAA All-Conference honors.

Jacia Christensen, representing the DSU women’s cross country team, is scheduled to run in the 42nd annual women’s national 5K meet at 1:30 p.m. She was awarded with her fourth consecutive All-Conference honor after finishing runner-up at a time of 20:32.22 in her last NSAA Championship meet. As a whole, the team finished third.

Both the 5K and 8K national championships are being held at Fort Vancouver Historical Site in Vancouver, WA.
