DSU Basketball Split Decisions in Dickinson on Saturday

The Dakota State women’s basketball team hit triple digits in the 103-56 win over Dickinson State on Saturday. The Trojans had four of their five starters score in double digits. Savannah Walsdorf recorded a double-double, 15 points and 11 rebounds. Jessi Giles scored a game-high 17 points. The 103-points scored is the second-most points scored in one game this season. Dakota State is 27-4 in the last 31 regular season conference games.

Berto Gittens tied a season-high with 24 points, but the men’s team couldn’t catch the Blue Hawks as Dickinson State handed DSU their second North Star loss, beating the Trojans 80-69. Ronnie Latting dropped 10 points and grabbed six rebounds in the loss. Dickinson State got to the free throw line 31 times, cashing in 23 points. 

The women are 13-6 and 3-0 in conference games. The men are 5-12 and 1-2 in conference games. This Friday, the teams start a four-game homestand at DSU Fieldhouse against Mayville State.
