The DSU Baseball team found themselves on the wrong end of a three-game sweep over this past weekend, dropping all three games to Briar Cliff. On Saturday, in a single game, the Chargers busted out the bats for a 13-0 victory in seven innings. The Trojans only had two hits in the game and Devin DeBoer took the loss, giving up eight runs in four innings of work. 

In Sunday’s doubleheader, the Chargers won via scores of 14-5 and 10-3. Game one saw Briar Cliff score 11 unanswered runs to take command of the contest. Ryan McDaniel with 3 for 4 from the leadoff spot for the Trojans and three other players had two hits a piece. The second game and finale of the weekend saw DSU hold a 2-0 lead before giving up 10 runs in the final two innings. Esai Hernendez, Samuel Drummond and Jeremiah Zimmerman all drove in runs for Dakota State. Trojan Baseball’s game versus Dakota Wesleyan that was scheduled for today (Tuesday) has been postponed.
