The North Star Athletic Association announced their academic scholars for the 2020 spring academic season earlier this week. Dakota State set a new school record with 60 student-athletes being named to the conference’s honor list for their outstanding achievements in the classroom. The previous high was 53 student-athletes during the 2019 spring academic year, while 2018 spring saw a total of 42 student-athletes. To be eligible for selection to the North Star Athletic Association Academic Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must achieve a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale. Congratulations to those who were named to the honor roll.

Jeff Dittman, Dakota State’s Athletic Director, earned the distinction as the NSAA AD of the year. Since his return to DSU, Dittman has established the Trojan Athletic Club, has helped establish the creation and administration of DSU’s ‘Ag Bowl’ and many other accomplishments since 2012. The last few years have seen a rise in success across the board with DSU athletics, and the Trojans were on the verge of winning the Commissioner’s Cup before spring sports were shut down.
