Dakota State’s Caleb Nielsen has been selected as the North Star Athletic Association’s Special Teams Player of the Week. Nielsen, the punter and kicker for the Trojans, tallied seven punts for 303 yards in Saturday’s 34-14 loss to Dickinson State. He recorded a 70-yard punt for DSU which was the longest of the season for the Senior Kicker. He also made two extra points in the loss. According to NAIA-PrestoStats as of Monday, Nielsen ranks fifth in the nation in average yards per punt with 43.3 yards. He also leads the Trojans in offense with 26 points. This weekly honor is the second time Nielsen has been selected for the award this season and seventh time in his career.
