Dakota State Women’s Basketball Repeats as NSAA Champions, Beating Bellevue 83-69

The Dakota State Trojans women’s basketball team won the North Star Athletic Association Championship for the second year in a row, beating Bellevue 83-69 Sunday afternoon.

DSU’s Jessi Giles scored 16 points and four rebounds in the win. Elsie Aslesen was a rebound-shy of a double-double, 11 points and nine rebounds. She also registered three blocks. Morgan Huber and Angela Slattery combined for 18 points to lead DSU’s bench to 31. The Trojans had 29 free throw attempts, making 22.

This was Dakota State’s 18th conference championship, their third since joining the NSAA.

With the win, DSU earns an automatic bid for the NAIA tournament.
