On the road in non-conference play, the DSU Women’s Basketball squad got off to a slow start in a loss, 74-59, at Briar Cliff University. The Chargers jumped out to a 29-12 lead after the first quarter but DSU pushed back in the second, outscoring Briar Cliff 23-13. Points were at a premium in the third, as the two sides combined for 20 total points. 

Down by 13 to begin the fourth quarter, the Trojans were unable to mount a comeback as they remain winless on the road this season. The two teams combined for 60 turnovers in the contest, BCU was 10-20 from downtown and DSU was 6-19. Jessi Giles and Morgan Koepsell each scored 13 points to lead Dakota State, who dropped to 2-8 on the season. They will be back in action on Wednesday night at Morningside.
