Dakota State Volleyball Tabbed Third In Preseason Poll

The North Star Athletic Association released its 2020 volleyball coaches’ preseason poll Thursday.  Viterbo was the unanimous coaches’ favorite to win the league title for the sixth straight year, collecting eight first-place votes and 64 points.

Bellevue earned second place with 56 points.  Dakota State was third after recording 46 points, followed by Mayville State, Presentation, Waldorf, Dickinson State, Valley City State.

Amy Veenhof, who is entering her 12th season as head coach, coached the Trojans to a historic 2019 season which included their first-ever NAIA Volleyball National Tournament Opening Round.  The Trojans finished the season with an overall record of 19-13 and a second-place tie in the conference standings with a 10-4 record.
