Dakota State Basketball swept Presentation College in NSAA play on Tuesday evening, rescheduled games from a week plus ago. The DSU Women came away with an 83-53 win, picking up their fourth straight win, while the Men survived 70-67.

The Lady T’s jumped out to an early advantage and led the whole way, but never shut the door until the fourth quarter. It was an 11 point lead after one quarter and a 46-33 lead at the break. Presentation came out and used solid defense in the third quarter to limit DSU’s opportunities, making it a 10 point game after three. Dakota State came out strong in the fourth quarter and put the game away, outscoring the visiting Saints 23-8 in the frame. 

Savannah Walsdorf finished with 23 points and 11 rebounds to lead four players in double-digits on the night. DSU Women moved to 10-12 on the season overall and 4-3 in NSAA play. 

 

Meanwhile, the Trojan Men held on for a three point win over Presentation College. A game tying three-pointer was off the mark for the visiting Saints, as DSU picked up their first conference home win of the season, improving their record to 6-16 overall and 2-5 in the conference. Dakota State led for the vast majority of the game, including 37-31 at halftime. The Trojan’s largest lead of the contest came at nine points, a number they hit a few times in the second half. 

Josh McGreal led the Trojans with 19 points and eight rebounds. Gare Ewefada had a season high 16 points and Brady Elder dished out seven assists. The win snapped a four-game losing streak to the Saints and a three-game losing streak on the season. DSU Basketball is back in action on Friday Night at Viterbo and then taking on Waldorf on Saturday. Games can be heard on FM103 and amazingmadison.com
