Dakota State Plays Final Game at Trojan Field Today

This afternoon, the Dakota State football team will run out and play in the final game at Trojan Field when they host Waldorf.

The Trojans have been playing at Trojan Field since the late 1960s, but with the new athletic facilities being built for Dakota State this is the last year for games to be played at the current football stadium.

The Trojans, at 5-4, are hoping to end the season on a strong note after a 1-2 start to the year, and Head Coach Josh Anderson doesn’t want the players to go into this game thinking too much about it being the last game at Trojan Field.

For those wanting a piece of Trojan Field, they can head to the field this afternoon and at the conclusion of the Trojan’s game against Waldorf, you can collect a piece of the field.

Waldorf will be no easy game for DSU, who is coming fresh off of a bye and also riding a two-game winning streak. The Warriors have already beaten the Trojans earlier this season in a 42-17 road defeat for DSU.

Since then DSU has grown a lot, and one of the areas that has impressed Anderson this season has been the offensive line.

With the overall play of his team this year, Anderson likes how his team has responded  to the adversity they dealt with throughout the season.

It is not just the final game at Trojan Field, but also the final game of the 2022 season for Dakota State. Kickoff from Trojan Field will be at 4pm today. For those unable to attend, you can listen to the game at FM 103.1 or at AmazingMadison.com.Â
