DSU Basketball split a pair of games on Friday night, as the Women picked up their second staight victory and the Men just a bit short versus Waldorf University at home.

On the Women’s side, a strong defensive effort led to an 84-58 win as the Trojans used 28 turnovers to their advantage. DSU led 43 to 28 at half time and then it was a defensive third quarter before the Lady Trojans pushed their lead to 31 in the fourth. 

Morgan Koepsell finished with 20 points on the night, Sydney Fick with 11 and  Ashlyn Macdonald had 10 as DSU moved to 8-12 on the season and 2-3 in conference play. 

 

Anthony Costello poured in 29 points and Josh McGreal 21 for DSU, but it was not enough as the Waldorf Men picked up a 78-75 . It was a back and forth game with the Warriors making enough shots down the stretch to win as they shot 56 percent in the second half. DSU held a 36-31 lead at halftime.

Costello and McGreal both pulled down 9 rebounds in the game, while Brady Elder dished out six assists. The Trojans dropped to 5-15 on the season and will look to split the weekend’s games today versus Viterbo.
