Dakota State Basketball wrapped up their final regular season road weekend with a split at Valley City State on Saturday, the Women winning a high scoring affair, 87-80, while the Men fell 74-63. The victory secured the league title outright for the DSU Women, their first North Star women’s basketball conference title and 16th overall regular-season conference title in program history. Dakota State collected its first regular-season title since the 2007-08 season. It was the 17th straight win, improving their record to 21-3 and remaining undefeated in NSAA play. Five different players posted double-digits in points, as DSU pulled away in the fourth quarter.

Meanwhile, Valley City shot 53 percent in the Men’s game as Dakota State fell to 7-6 in conference play. The Trojans were cold from beyond the arc, hitting just 4 of 21 attempts. Ronnie Latting had a double-double, 13 points and 10 rebounds, to lead DSU. The regular season finale is set for this upcoming Thursday, as the Trojans will travel to take on Bellevue University.
