After sweeping Viterbo University on Friday Night, the DSU Basketball squads split their games on Saturday at Waldorf U in Forest City, Iowa. The Women pushed their winning streak to six games with an 84-74 win, while the Men fell 81-66.

After the Lady T’s fell behind 7-4 early on in the first quarter, they would use a 13-0 scoring run and never trailed after that. DSU used a balanced attack to take a 44-30 lead at halftime. The advantage was pushed out to 16 points early on in the third before Waldorf used a 17-7 scoring run to pull within 6 points. That would be the closest the Lady Warriors would get, as Dakota State bounced back and pushed the score to 76-59 with just over six minutes remaining in the contest.

Riley Peters led four players in double-digits, scoring a season high 18 points off the bench. Savannah Walsdorf had 17 points and eight rebounds as DSU moved their record to 12-12 on the season and their NSAA record to 6-3.

The Waldorf Men shot 54 percent in the game and hit 13 three-pointers, as they cruised to the victory. The Warriors led 43-31 at halftime and led by as much as 27 in the second half. DSU would come within 12 on two separate occasions in the final 20 minutes, but were answered each time with Warrior buckets. Brady Van Holland tallied 21 points off the bench and Josh McGreal had 24 points. Brady Elder just missed out on a double-double, with 10 points and eight assists.

DSU Men fell to 7-17 on the season and 3-6 in conference play. Trojan Basketball will be on the road for the second weekend in-a-row, at Presentation on Friday and Mayville State on Saturday.
