Thursday night brought a lite twist to Cornbelt League Baseball. There were four games scheduled but two were postponed during the day. In a game that was heard on FM103, Flandreau never trailed in an 8-3 win versus the Dell Rapids Mudcats. The host Cardinals got out to a 4-1 advantage after five innings. Dells pulled within one on a pair of home runs from Chad Hunt and Mark Hauck in the sixth, only to see Flandreau answer with two of their own in the home half of the inning and two more in the seventh.
Flandreau visits the Gamecocks on Sunday, Mudcats will host Canova.
Trailing by a run in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Salem Cubs took advantage of an error and scored two runs to defeat Dell Rapids PBR 10-9 in Salem. Tied at sevens going into the final frame, PBR scored two runs via an error in the top half of the inning, setting up the walkoff for Salem. The two sides combined for eight errors, leading to seven unearned runs. Salem is scheduled to host Madison on Sunday and PBR is at home versus Lennox.
