Colby Mennis punched his ticket to the Championship Match at the 160 weight-class on Friday afternoon with a Major Decision over Jack Smith of Brandon Valley. Falling behind 7-0 in the first period, Mennis went to work and dominated the final four minutes. He will now face the top seed in the class, Cooper Voorhees from Rapid City Stevens..who is undefeated thus far. Mennis’s performance highlighted the day for Madison and area wrestlers. Truman Stoller and Sam Olson are also in the hunt for placement in Class A.

McCook Central/Montrose sent five wrestlers to semifinal action but all were unable to pick up a win. Howard’s Lane Miller came up just short in the semi’s, falling in a 3-2 decision.
