Salem Cubs Close Out Dells PBR in the Seventh
In what was a close game to start, the Salem Cubs broke the game open and ended it against Dells PBR in the seventh, scoring 11 runs in the inning.
PBR took the early lead, ending the second-inning with a 2-1 advantage, and kept it close before Salem brought in two runs in both the fourth and fifth innings. After taking the lead in the fourth, Salem never looked back.
Salem also scored a run in the sixth that Dells answered, bringing them back within reach, down 6-3 heading into the seventh. That was when things got ugly for Dell Rapids.
Hits from Tyler Earls, Isaac Anderson, Cole Cheeseman, Kyle Tuschen, and Jacob Vonberge, an error on a ball put in play by Tyler Cleveland, and a double by Earls helped the Cubs bring in eleven runs in the seventh inning, extending their lead to 17-3.
PBR was able to get a run in the bottom of the seventh, but it was not enough to avoid the ten run rule, and ultimately ended the game after seven-innings with a final score of 17-4.
Cheeseman led the way with hits for the Cubs with three hits, while also bringing in three runs and an RBI. Tyler Earls had three RBIs, two hits, and two runs while Issac Anderson had two hits, two RBIs, and a run. Kyle Tuschen scored two runs on a hit while also bringing two batters in.
