Recapping Cornbelt Baseball From Thursday Night

The Gamecocks of Hartford/Humboldt picked up their first Cornbelt League win of the summer, with an 11-2 victory at Colman. Cole Barthel pitched into the ninth inning and Joe Hanisch left the yard to lead the Gamecocks. Lennox remained undefeated, getting a complete game from Drew Sweeter, in a 9-4 game. Sweeter struck out 11 Flandreau batters in the contest.

Seth Rockafellow homered and picked up the win on the mound for the Wood Ducks of Hartford/Humboldt, as they defeated the Mudcats of Dell Rapids 9-8. Lastly, Dell Rapids PBR sent the Madison Broncos to their second straight loss, picking up the win at Flynn Field.

Cornbelt League returns to action on Sunday, with a pair of games. Including the battle for Dell Rapids, which gets underway at 8pm and can be heard on AM1390.
