Monday Night Legion Recap

Humboldt/Hartford used a late surge on Monday night to pull away from Colton in an 8-3 win in Legion ball. Leading by a run heading into the bottom of the seventh, the hosts plated three runs and added another in the eighth. Caden Ideker, Noah Hohn and Isaiah Colon each scored twice for H/H. Landry Knight picked up the win on the mound, pitching two innings in relief of starter Hohn. It was the 14th victory of the season for Humboldt/Hartford, who are scheduled to be back in action versus Tea on Friday.

McCook/Miner got off to a hot start, scoring six runs in the bottom of the first inning, on their way to a five-inning 11-1 win over Volga. Colbe Scott drove in three in the game, including a two-run double in the first. Peyton Cleveland reached base three times and scored three times as well. Scott started the game on the mound, Cleveland pitched an inning and Colton Spader worked an inning. It was the sixth win for McCook/Miner, who also beat Volga last Friday.
